Hello Stampers!
At the beginning of the year I saw a post where someone talked about scheduling days or events on our calendars throughout the year so that we could have something to look forward to. She said as adults we don't do that enough. I happen to know quite a few people who have a pretty good grip on that concept but this is not something I have done in my life. But I did take a look at my
calendar and I immediately requested some random days off work, mostly so I could enjoy a few extra long weekends, which is why I am home today taking time off from work - little did I know in January that I would be this stressed out and really need this extra day off. So glad I saw that post.
Yesterday, David and I met with his surgical oncologist. The final results were not back yet from the biopsy done on Monday but they had enough information to let us know some things,
and I thought I would bring you all up to date, then share a couple of cards I made last week.
David's melanoma that he had 2 years ago, came back. And this time it also metastasized. He has one large tumor near where the other one was on his head and several other smaller ones on his head and most concerning in his bones.
Because of this they are not going to immediately start with surgery but instead start with immunotherapy. The concerning part of this for me,
is that the first time David had the cancer he was not a candidate for immunotherapy because he had Guillain-Barre syndrome when he was in his 20's and there was a chance that the therapy would cause that to return. He was paralyzed by this when he was younger.
But the risks are greater now. So on June 4th David will have his first immunotherapy session. He will have a couple of rounds of this using 2 different drugs and then they will scan and see if anything has
changed. This is where we have to wait and see. If this than that sort of thing.Surgery, or more therapy or we stop everything. That is all I know for now.
Last week,I pulled out a couple of card kits that I did not make when I was in California for On Stage and finished them. Simple card. A piece of dsp.Instructions were simple -Color, add a greeting, layer and you are good to go. I chose not to do it while I was away because I had the supplies at home and I wanted to use
different colors. SU! gave us supplies to make 2 cards. I made them different, but can see from the position of the flowers the piece of dsp is exactly the same.
